Shepherd’s House – Homeless Shelter

Shepherd’s House is a dedicated non-profit organization that provides shelter, support, and
resources for individuals facing homelessness and crisis situations. Our mission is to offer a safe
environment where individuals can rebuild their lives, access essential services, and regain their
independence. Through the grace of God, compassionate care, and tailored assistance, we aim
to empower those in need and guide them towards a brighter future.
From Homelessness to Hope: A Family’s Journey to Stability and Service

When the Johnson (pseudo name) family walked through the doors of our homeless shelter in
2022, they were scared, exhausted, and uncertain about the future. After a series of financial
setbacks and the loss of stable housing, they found themselves with nowhere else to turn.  They
were tired of living the lives of the past and needed help with stabilizing their mental health
issues.
With the support of our intake Directors, the Johnsons were able to get back on their feet. They
participated in applying for services and resources that were available to them.

But their story didn’t end there.

Grateful for the help they had received, the Johnsons began volunteering at the shelter every
week. Whether it was serving meals, organizing donations, laundry and cleaning, or simply
offering encouragement to other families, they gave back with humility and compassion.

In 2023, Mrs. Johnson was offered a part-time position on our shelter staff, as a monitor.
Today, by  the Grace of God,  the Johnson family is housed, employed, and thriving. Their
journey from crisis to stability is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community
comes together to offer shelter, support, and opportunity.
